The Interior Sea

Tools: Adobe Animate

This project is a work in progress focusing on the biodiversity in the western interior seaway of North America during the Cretaceous epoch. It was a shallow, warm sea home to the infamous Pteranodon (known incorrectly as 'pterodactyl' to most), but also a flurry of flighted and flightless birds, and a whole menagerie of marine reptiles. This included, but was not limited to a thirty-foot long predatory sea lizard.

The final version of this animated short features the pterosaurs Pteranodon (yellow), and Nyctosaurus (black), as well as the bird Ichthyornis. Music sampled from Bensound.

2D Short Film Early Stages

Tools: Adobe Animate

Animation goes through many stages, and changes are often inevitable. Take a peek at the original extended vision for the short applied over its storyboard! It originally included hesperornis, Styxosaurus, and Tylosaurus in that order.
